What Is Career Transition Coaching
Many people confuse career coaching with job search help. But career transition coaching goes deeper:
-
It helps you clarify your direction, especially when your next move isn’t obvious.
-
It surfaces your transferable strengths, values, and motivators.
-
It helps you design options (roles, industries, pathways) you may not yet see.
-
Then we build a step-by-step plan to move and land.
-
I hold you accountable, help you troubleshoot mindset blocks, and guide action.
In short: I’m your strategic partner in rethinking and relaunching your professional path.
Who It’s For
This isn’t one-size-fits-all. You’ll benefit especially if you are:
-
Mid-career professionals who feel stuck or uninspired
-
People wanting to pivot industries (e.g. from corporate → non-profit / tech / purpose work)
-
Those who’ve paused (e.g. for family, health, relocation) and want to re-enter
-
Executives, managers, or skilled professionals seeking greater alignment
-
Anyone who knows “something has to change” but isn’t sure what next or how
You are ready if you bring curiosity, openness, and willingness to act. You don’t need to have it all figured out, you just need the drive to move forward.
What You’ll Get
Here are the concrete results you can expect:
-
Crystal clarity on your strengths, values, and ideal work context
-
A short list of viable career paths / role options
-
A narrative / branding you can confidently share (résumé, LinkedIn, story)
-
A focused job search or transition strategy (networking, applications, outreach)
-
Tools, templates, and frameworks (e.g. decision matrices, action trackers)
-
Mindset support: handling fear, risk, comparison
-
Accountability and momentum — you won’t get stuck again
I like to think of it as converting your uncertainty into forward motion.
How Does Career transition Coaching Work?
Break it into 4–6 phases or “milestones.” Here’s a possible version:
Phase 1 Discovery & Clarity: Deep conversation + assessments to map your strengths, values, gaps, limiting beliefs
Phase 2 Explore & Design: Brainstorm possible pathways, research roles, filter options
Phase 3 Brand & Position: Craft your narrative, tailor your resume / LinkedIn / pitch for your chosen path
Phase 4 Execution & Momentum: Apply, network, interview, refine strategy based on feedback
Phase 5 Transition / Landing: Negotiate offers, onboard into new role, manage first months
You’ll get templates, prompts, and direct coaching between sessions to keep traction.
Why Me
Here’s how I’m different (and why working together will feel more effective):
-
I have real experience in transitioning my career frequently, so I understand what it’s like to change or pivot.
-
I combine clarity + execution — not just vision, but the nuts-and-bolts steps.
-
I use tested frameworks (decision matrices, prototype testing, narrative transformation) to cut through confusion.
-
My priority: you don’t waste time. I alway aim to sharpen, prune, and keep you moving.
-
You’ll get a disciplined and compassionate accountability partner, not just cheerleading.
-
I have case studies / success stories (see below) to show how this works in practice.
What is the Cost of Career transition Coaching?
The cost of career coaching in Germany, especially in Munich can vary depending on the coach’s experience and the services provided. Typically, fees range from €100 to €300 per session.
The general rule of thumb applies also for coaching services: Money buys quality. The higher the price, the more qualified, experienced and versatile a coach generally is. If a coach charges less than 150 € / hour this often indicates that he or she doesn't professionally attend clients but works on a casual basis only.
Some coaches offer package deals for complex career development challenges, and discounts may be available for students or recent graduates. Although the cost may seem high, many find that the investment in a career coach quickly pays off in the form of better negotiation skills, and therefore higher salaries, better job offers and accelerated career growth. Myself I benefitted from salary raise of 20 - 30% for each career step. In total this accounted for a salary raise of 124% within only 5 years. My clients experience similar results.
FAQs
Q: What does a career transition coach do?
A: A coach helps you clarify direction, identify your transferable strengths, generate realistic pathways you might not see, and then build a plan to get from A → B. You gain structure, accountability, and fresh perspective.
Q: How is this different from career counselling or a recruiter?
A: Counselors often focus on testing, assessments, or guidance; recruiters focus on filling roles. A transition coach bridges clarity and execution: I help you design your path and activate it — beyond generic job matching.
Q: How long does the process take?
A: It depends on your background, availability, and decision speed. Many clients see real traction within 8–12 weeks. But some transitions (industry pivots, upskilling) may stretch 4–6 months.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Coaching rates vary by market and coach level. My packages typically start at around $ 2,800 for a core transition process. We’ll discuss pricing transparently in our call.
Q: Do I need any prior assessments or credentials?
A: No — though I may suggest assessments or reading as part of our work, what matters most is your openness, engagement, and willingness to try experimentation.

What sets me apart from other Coaching providers?
Unlike traditional coaches, with me, you get much more than just coaching:
Coaching is one of many effective tools in your transformation process towards freedom. However, consulting, mentoring, and sometimes even training are just as necessary. Depending on what you need at the moment, I adopt the appropriate role.
As a consultant, I share best practices with you and help develop a structured approach.
As a coach, I ask profound questions that help you overcome internal barriers and find your own answers.
As a facilitator, I work with you to modify your behaviors because remember, your results only change when your actions do.
As a mentor, I share my own experiences from over 20 years of personal transformation.
However, I never impose my solutions on you. You make your own decisions based on the different impulses and perspectives I offer.
Additionally, as a sports scientist, I know how easily your thoughts start to flow when your body is in motion. That's why I also offer outdoor coaching in the beautiful surroundings of the Alps - a literal change in perspective.
I work with you online or onsite (Munich region).
